Congratulations to the ministers appointed to strategic portfolios for the maritime industry

[Press release] Québec City, September 10, 2025 – Following the cabinet shuffle announced today by Québec Premier François Legault, the St. Lawrence Ship Operators congratulate the ministers whose new responsibilities include key portfolios that will shape the future of the St. Lawrence and Québec's maritime industry.
The St. Lawrence Ship Operators extend their congratulations and best wishes to:
Jonatan Julien, appointed Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, whose leadership will play a key role in strengthening logistics corridors and enhancing the competitiveness of the maritime transportation supply chain.
Bernard Drainville, appointed Minister of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks, and Minister responsible for the Maritime Strategy, whose mandate will help advance initiatives that balance maritime development with environmental sustainability.
Éric Girard, who remains Minister of Finance and assumes responsibility for Regional Economic Development, a strategic portfolio for supporting Québec's economic vitality and fostering the growth of the maritime sector.
Christine Fréchette, who continues as Minister of Economy and Energy, for her leadership in supporting innovation and strengthening the competitiveness of Québec businesses, including those in the maritime sector.
The St. Lawrence Ship Operators reaffirm their commitment to working collaboratively with these ministers to support the sustainable growth and long-term development of Québec's maritime industry—an essential driver of the province's economy and environmental objectives.
