Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the St. Lawrence Shipowners in December 2025, and previously Executive Director since September 2024, Saul Polo provides strategic leadership to a rapidly growing association.

 

With extensive experience in finance, business development, and government relations, he works to strengthen the organization’s position, increase its influence with public decision-makers, and consolidate a dynamic network of members and partners.

His career reflects a strong commitment to economic development and organizational transformation. For eight years, he served as the Member of the National Assembly for Laval-des-Rapides and as Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministers of Economy, Innovation, Exports, and Finance, contributing to the development of key strategies for Quebec. He also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Quebec, where he developed strategic partnerships and strengthened ties between the business community and public institutions.

Convinced that maritime transport is a key driver of sustainable prosperity, Saul Polo works to advance strategic priorities such as cabotage protection, pilotage modernization, the green transition, maritime training, and the development of new trade routes, positioning the St. Lawrence Shipowners as an influential actor within the maritime ecosystem.
